The Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing all security operations across the hospital premises to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Access Control & Premises Security
- Ensure only authorized personnel enter through basement and other controlled access points.
- Oversee key issuance, bag searches, and proper logging of dispatch entries.
- Supervise entry/exit management at ICU, Emergency, and Lobby.
- Monitor unmanned gate posts periodically (vehicle checks, supplier delivery notes, back area surveillance).
2. Surveillance & Control Room Management
- Oversee the operation and safekeeping of CCTV systems and security alarms.
- Monitor security systems continuously and coordinate patrol responses.
- Maintain incident logs and ensure proper evidence handling.
3. Emergency & Incident Management
- Ensure ambulance and emergency entries/exits remain clear at all times.
- Support safe patient transfers from vehicles to Emergency.
- Enforce visitor limits in sensitive areas and guide flow to waiting areas.
- Respond to security incidents and escalate to hospital management as needed.
4. Usher & Staff Supervision
- Manage Roster Preparation, Implementation and supervision.
- Day shift team and night shift team.
- Review daily shift reports and ensure proper patrol coverage.
- Monitor usher discipline, grooming, and conduct.
- Escort cash/billing staff for secure transfers.
5. Patient & Visitor Services
- Oversee lobby operations and visitor control during official visiting hours.
- Provide courteous assistance to patients/visitors (directions, wheelchair, luggage, baby pram).
- Coordinate and manage VIP visits with lobby supervisor/concierge.
- Support discharge process, ensuring patients are escorted respectfully to the portico.
6. Compliance & Facility Checks
- Ensure fire exits, lounges, and waiting areas are properly maintained and secured.
- Conduct internal & external patrols (day/night) to identify risks or faults in infrastructure.
- Report security-related issues affecting hospital integrity.
7. External Coordination & Political Sensitivity
- Liaise with local law enforcement and police authorities for security-related matters.
- Handle any political interference or external pressures to ensure smooth day-to-day hospital operations.
- Ensure compliance with government and regulatory requirements affecting hospital safety and access.
- Represent hospital security in official external interactions when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Management or minimum a Higher School Certificate
- 5-10 years’ experience in similar position in a healthcare environment or hotel.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of CCTV operations, access control systems, emergency response, and law enforcement coordination.
- Capability to handle political pressures and external interference while maintaining hospital operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clean morality certificate
