We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Operations Specialist (Livestock) to join ER Agri Limited.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily feed production and herd operations, ensuring high quality, safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations and standards.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor feed production schedules and pasture management activities.
- Ensure proper functioning, preventive maintenance, and servicing of feed mill machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Supervise veterinary treatments, vaccinations, and animal welfare programmes, maintaining accurate herd health and productivity records.
- Plan and oversee pasture management, including land preparation, seeding, irrigation, weed control, fertilisation, and sustainable grazing practices.
- Lead, coach, and supervise the operations team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Manage inventories, resources, and operational budgets efficiently while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Support management in livestock strategies, feasibility studies, and continuous process improvement.
- Enforce health, safety, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols in line with company policy and regulations.
- Provide structured reporting, operational insights, and feedback to support company objectives and decision-making.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and integration of new employees, ensuring positive employee relations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Recognized bachelor’s degree in agriculture/Farming or any comparable recognized professional qualification.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in livestock or feed operations..
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English and French
- Technical skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills and people’s management skills
- Dynamic, focused and reliable person with the ability to work under pressure.
- Holder of a valid driving license.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: Negotiable upon qualification & experience.
