Step into a leadership role at one of the world’s most iconic luxury resorts. Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to spearhead our commercial strategy.
As a Director Sales and Marketing, we rely on you to:
- Develop, implement and regularly update the hotel’s Marketing Plan, Revenue Management strategies, and Sales policies in line with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts standards.
- Oversee Rooms, Catering and F&B revenue budgets, ensuring accurate forecasts within ±5% of actual results.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing strategies and distribution channels to proactively adjust our positioning.
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, strategic partnerships and innovative sales initiatives.
- Guide the Sales & Marketing team in securing major accounts, driving cross-selling initiatives, and expanding market share.
- Ensure all marketing, PR and promotional activities reflect Shangri-La’s brand philosophy and deliver measurable ROI.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and within the business community to create new opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners, travel agents, corporate clients, and media representatives.
- Utilize systems like Delphi, IDeaS, SynXis and Nexus to track performance, identify growth opportunities, and optimize revenue streams.
- Recruit, train and mentor Sales & Marketing talent while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration.
- Prepare and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources to areas with the highest revenue potential.
- Champion Shangri-La’s loyalty programs (e.g., Golden Circle) and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest experiences.
- Stay updated on emerging marketing technologies, distribution channels, and digital trends to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or Hospitality Management.
- Good communication skills in both French and English.
- Certifications in Revenue Management, Digital Marketing, or Events Management will be an asset.
- Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in Hotel Sales & Marketing within luxury hospitality in a resort, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Events Management, Communications, and Reservations functions.
- Proficiency in Delphi, IDeaS, SynXis, Nexus and other hotel management systems; strong grasp of digital marketing and distribution channels.
- Proven ability to lead managers and department heads, foster team performance, and serve as a positive role model.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, negotiation, and networking skills, with a proven record of driving revenue growth and market share.
- Willingness to work long and flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and travel for business purposes.
