As a Pastry Maker, you will be responsible for creating new and exciting desserts, preparing a wide variety of baked goods, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and
- modern recipes.
- Able to develop, design, or create new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen.
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and
- modern recipes.
- Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful
- and exciting.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within
- budget.
- Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
- Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry arts is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role.
- Strong creative and artistic skills with a passion for pastry and dessert creation.
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid food-handlers certificate.
- Valid Certificate of character.
