QBL is seeking a highly organized and proactive Freight Service Officer who will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods across domestic and international locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage daily freight operations, including booking, scheduling, and tracking shipments.
- Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and invoices.
- Monitor shipments to ensure adherence to schedules and resolve any discrepancies or delays promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and warehouse, to streamline operations and maintain service levels.
- Ensure compliance with national and international freight regulations, including customs and import/export requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and contracts for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Address customer inquiries and provide proactive updates on shipment status, delays, or issues.
- Assist in the negotiation of freight rates and service agreements with carriers.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple shipments simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
