The Junior IT Officer will be responsible for: assisting in the troubleshooting of hardware and software; providing technical support to end-users; maintain and monitor network performance; and maintain upkeep of servers, workstations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, systems and software.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, systems, and software
- Provide first-level technical support to internal users for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems and applications as required
- Support the management and basic troubleshooting of company networks and connectivity issues
- Maintain and update inventory records of IT equipment and support procurement and asset tracking
- Assist with regular system updates, backups, and implementation of IT security protocols
- Support user onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup and access rights management
- Log, track, and escalate incidents using helpdesk or ticketing systems
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement technical solutions, updates, and process enhancements
- Keep current with IT best practices, tools, and emerging technologies
Requirements and skills
- HSC and/or Holder of a Diploma, Degree or Certificate in any related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in an IT support or systems-related role (internships included)
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking concepts, and office productivity software
- Familiarity with hardware components, troubleshooting steps, and software installation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic IT setting
