About The Opportunity
The Development DBA will work on the design, development, performance, scalability and deployment architecture of Dayforce HCM, our SaaS application.
What You’ll Get To Do

  • Maintain Development and QA environment database servers on-premises and Azure
  • Work with development teams to translate requirements into technical specifications; help to identify optimal database design, access strategies, and data integrity constraints
  • Help establish data management standards for tools and infrastructure
  • Assist in the design and implementation of security, auditing and integrity controls
  • Work with the performance team to design, execute, and analyze benchmarks of the system
  • Identify and document performance and scalability improvements
  • Proactively make recommendations and resolve technical system issues to improve SQL stability and performance
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the SQL infrastructure, SQL systems and applications
  • Provide SQL Server knowledge, solutions and education to the development teams and actively discuss, review, and recommend technical options and activities
  • Effectively apply software development methodology and adhere to standards, including change management; maintain database coding standards
  • Participate in database-related R&D projects, as needed

Skills And Experience We Value

  • At least 3 years of recent experience developing and maintaining mission-critical database environments
  • Experience with SQL Server replication, High Availability, and other SQL Server features
  • Clear understanding of database design, referential integrity and the application development life cycle
  • Experience in large enterprise high transaction OLTP environments
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher
  • Strong T-SQL and Powershell skills
  • Experience with database triaging, tuning and monitoring
  • Familiarity with standard change control procedures
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Good planning, time management, and documentation skills
  • Willing to work evenings EST occasionally

  • Experience with data modeling tools such as Embarcadero, ERwin, or Information Architect
