Tool Preparation & Setup
• Set up tools, jigs, and fixtures on production machines according to job specifications.
• Adjust settings and alignments to ensure accurate operation during production runs.
• Conduct trial runs to verify proper setup and performance.
Tool Maintenance & Monitoring
- Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance; report major issues to the maintenance team.
- Replace worn or damaged tooling components in a timely manner.
Support to Production & Engineering
- Work closely with production operators and engineers to troubleshoot machine/tool-related issues.
- Assist in implementing process improvements suggested by the Industrial Engineer.
- Contribute to improving tool changeover times and overall equipment effectiveness.
Technical Drawing Interpretation
- Read and interpret technical drawings and setup sheets to ensure correct tool configurations.
- Understand machine limitations and workshop capabilities for safe and efficient setup.
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure tool setups meet quality standards and contribute to defect reduction.
- Follow all safety protocols during machine setup and operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Mechanical or Production-related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical principles, tool types, and machining operations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
