As a Client Accountant, you will be responsible for a portfolio of client entities (including GBCs, Authorised Companies, and Trusts) ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely statutory submissions, and exceptional client service. You’ll liaise directly with clients, auditors, and regulators, making this a highly visible and client-facing role.
This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate coming from another Management Company, Trust & Corporate Services provider, or Financial Services business who enjoys being hands-on and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Skills and Experience required:
Minimum 3+ years experience in a similar client accounting role (preferably at a Management Company, Accounting/Advisory Firm, or Trust business)
Degree in Accounting/Finance or ACCA-qualified (or in progress)
Strong knowledge of IFRS, Companies Act, and tax framework applicable in Mauritius
Prior experience managing a portfolio of offshore clients (GBC/AC structures)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — fluent in English and French
Professional, well-groomed, and client-presentable with a positive and proactive attitude
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
Manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of client entities (GBCs, ACs, Trusts)
Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS or other applicable frameworks
Liaise with auditors and manage the annual audit process for client entities
Prepare and file tax computations and returns in coordination with tax teams
Monitor compliance with local regulations (FSC, MRA, Companies Act)
Process and record bank transactions, journals, and intercompany reconciliations
Prepare management accounts, cash flow statements, and variance analysis reports
Attend to client queries with professionalism and promptness
Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
