Our client in the financial sector is seeking to recruit a Project Assistant - Claims Underwriting
The Project Assistant - Claims Underwriting will handle claims/underwriting/Premium Management functions in General Insurance operations. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of insurance processes, accuracy in handling data, and the ability to work effectively within a team-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite proposals in line with established underwriting principles and guidelines;
- Ensure timely and accurate on-boarding of individual profiles and policies and maintaining insured details on the system;
- Assess claims documentation for a comprehensive appraisal of risks;
- Assess claims intimated for admissibility and eligibility as per contractual obligations;
- Liaise with service providers as may be applicable in respect of benefit eligibility;
- Calculate premium refunds, adjustments and reversals as required, substantiated with documented evidence; and
- Adhere to legal requirements and industry regulations.
Profile:
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) with a minimum 1 year of relevant work experience;
- Certificate CII or degree in Insurance, Business Management or Finance would be an advantage;
- Proactive, dynamic & result oriented;
- Ability to meet operational targets;
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills;
- Good communication skills (Oral/written); and
- Proficient in MS Office/specialized software.
