Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a canteen or institutional setting.
Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation practices.
Ability to cook a variety of cuisines (e.g., Indian, vegetarian, snacks).
- Prepare and cook meals as per daily menu and dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and surrounding areas
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw and cooked food.
- Monitor food inventory and inform the supervisor about stock levels.
- Maintain records of daily meals prepared and served.
- Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to reduce waste.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Assist in planning menus and suggesting new dishes.
- Supervise and coordinate with kitchen assistants or helpers if any
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
