Despatch Worker

We need a reliable Despatch Worker to help load steel products onto trucks at our rolling mill. Must be physically fit, safety-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Despatch Worker to support the despatch team at our steel rolling mill. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the accurate and efficient loading of steel products (such as rebars and other finished goods) onto trucks for dispatch to customers. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load steel products onto trucks as per dispatch instructions and delivery schedules.

• Ensure proper stacking, strapping, and securing of loads to prevent damage during transport.

• Assist with identifying and marking materials for shipment using tags, labels, or other means.

• Coordinate with crane operators, forklift drivers, and dispatch supervisors during loading operations.

• Verify items being loaded match the dispatch documentation (e.g., delivery notes, invoices).

• Maintain a clean and organized dispatch area.

• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Report any damaged materials or loading equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support dispatch and yard operations.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a steel mill, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.

• Basic understanding of loading procedures and safety practices.

• Ability to lift heavy items and work in outdoor and indoor industrial conditions.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and work in varying weather conditions.

• Must be able to lift and carry loads of 25–50 kg with assistance or mechanical aid
