Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments
  • Ensure company dormitories comply with health, safety, hygiene, and fire safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of dormitories and recommend corrective actions where required.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Lodging Accommodation Permit (LAP) requirements and support the preparation of documentation for permit applications.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Organize and participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings.
  • Monitor the implementation of safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Conduct employee Health & Safety inductions and awareness sessions.
  • Organize emergency drills and ensure emergency equipment is properly maintained.
  • Maintain Health & Safety records, reports, statutory documentation, and dormitory inspection records.
  • Advise management on safety improvements and preventive measures.
  • Follow up on corrective actions identified during inspections, audits, or incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the company.
  • Prepare monthly Health & Safety reports for management.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities during inspections relating to Occupational Safety & Health and Lodging Accommodation Permits.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Occupational Health and Safety Officer
  • Degree in Occupational Safety and Health
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
