Job Description

SD Worx is a leading European provider of Payroll & HR services with global reach. We have offices in Europe and Mauritius. Our goal? We bring people solutions to life and turn HR into a value source for our clients and their people.

Our people solutions span the entire employee journey, from salary payment to attracting, rewarding, and developing talent. Are you ready to join us?

About the role:

The Capacity, Availability & Asset Management Lead is accountable for both the technical architecture and operational integrity of the platform governing infrastructure capacity, availability, asset lifecycle, and licensing across private cloud, public cloud, and datacenter environments.

This role combines technical leadership, data ownership, and operational execution to ensure that all capacity, availability, asset, and licensing data is accurate, complete, and actionable. It enables Product Owners and Platform Tribes to make informed, risk-aware decisions while ensuring the underlying systems, integrations, and data models are scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

The role acts as the technical authority of the value stream, bridging architecture, engineering, and ITIL practices, and ensuring seamless integration with DevOps pipelines, ServiceNow CMDB, cloud platforms, and observability tooling.

Which tasks can you expect?

Technical Ownership & Architecture

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the Capacity, Availability & Asset Management platform
  • Define backend architecture, APIs, integration patterns, and data flows
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and resilience of all core components
  • Define and enforce non-functional requirements (availability, security, observability)
  • Align architectural decisions with enterprise standards and cloud strategy

Data Model & CMDB Governance

  • Own and evolve the canonical data model for assets, capacity metrics, lifecycle states, dependencies, and licensing
  • Define and maintain relationships across configuration items (servers, VMs, databases, networks, storage, licences)
  • Ensure consistency between ServiceNow CMDB and authoritative sources
  • Implement automation-first data population, reconciliation, and validation controls
  • Maintain continuous data quality through structured checks on completeness, duplication, and accuracy

Capacity & Performance Management

  • Design and support forward-looking capacity modelling and forecasting capabilities
  • Maintain utilisation data pipelines from monitoring tools, cloud platforms, and infrastructure teams
  • Provide capacity dashboards, baselines, and trend analysis
  • Identify and escalate saturation risks early
  • Validate demand forecasts using structured data insights

Availability & Reliability Management

  • Enable real-time or near-real-time availability visibility through integrated telemetry
  • Maintain SLA/SLO reporting and track breaches
  • Support root cause analysis and ensure insights feed backlog prioritisation
  • Ensure resilience and failure-domain awareness in system and data design

Asset Lifecycle & Licensing Management

  • Architect and maintain lifecycle tracking (commission → operate → patch → support → EOL → decommission)
  • Ensure accurate asset records and compliance with lifecycle policies
  • Track licence usage, renewals, and compliance requirements
  • Identify optimisation opportunities, including unused or underutilised licences
  • Support audit, compliance, and reporting requirements

Engineering & Platform Quality

  • Lead backend design and implementation (APIs, services, automation pipelines)
  • Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and documentation discipline
  • Drive modular, maintainable architecture and reduce technical debt
  • Perform technical reviews and mentor engineers

Integration & Automation

  • Define and manage integrations with DevOps pipelines, IDP Portal, ServiceNow, cloud platforms, and observability tools
  • Establish API contracts and event-driven integration patterns
  • Ensure reliable, consistent data exchange across systems
  • Eliminate duplication of logic and enforce single sources of truth

Agile & Operational Enablement

  • Ensure data and platform capabilities support sprint planning and backlog refinement
  • Make capacity, availability, and asset risks visible early (“shift-left”)
  • Support Product Owner with actionable insights for prioritisation and decision-making
  • Maintain alignment between platform capabilities and delivery needs

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Owners to translate business objectives into technical solutions
  • Align with Platform Architects and Enterprise Architecture
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, Network, and Infrastructure teams
  • Present technical roadmaps, risks, and decisions to senior stakeholders
  • Provide effort estimations and technical risk assessments

What do you have to offer?

  • 7+ years in backend, platform engineering, or infrastructure-focused roles
  • Proven experience as Tech Lead, Senior Architect, or equivalent senior role
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL practices (Capacity, Availability, Asset, Configuration Management)
  • Experience with CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) and asset management systems
  • Strong expertise in API design (REST/GraphQL), event-driven architecture, and cloud-native systems
  • Experience integrating with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD environments
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure domains (compute, storage, network, databases, middleware)
  • Strong data modelling capabilities (relational and service relationship modelling)
  • Experience in multi-cloud and multi-vendor environments
  • Familiarity with observability stacks (metrics, logs, tracing)
  • Understanding of licensing models across OS, database, middleware, and cloud
  • Strong analytical mindset with financial awareness (forecasting, cost control, optimisation)
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to translate complex systems into structured, actionable models
  • ITIL v3 and/or ITIL 4 certification
  • Experience in large-scale SaaS or multi-region hosting environments
  • Experience with private cloud platforms and hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Prior experience in building or governing platform data ecosystems
