Job Description

Alteo Agri Ltd is looking for a dynamic, organised and detail-oriented Assistant Purchasing Officer to support procurement activities across Alteo’s Agro, Industrial and Energy cluster.

Reporting to the Purchasing and Store Manager, the selected candidate will assist in the sourcing, purchasing and follow-up of goods and services required by the different operations. The role requires strong follow-up skills, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective and compliant procurement support.


Main Responsibilities

·        Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with internal procedures.

·        Source quotations, prepare comparisons and assist in supplier selection.

·        Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

·        Liaise with internal departments to understand procurement needs, priorities and specifications.

·        Support coordination with stores to promote stock availability for critical operational items.

·        Assist in resolving delivery, quantity, quality, pricing or documentation discrepancies.

·        Maintain accurate procurement records and support proper audit traceability.

·        Assist in supplier performance monitoring and cost optimisation initiatives.

·        Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval processes and ethical standards.


Candidate Profile

·        Diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

·        Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, stores, logistics or supply chain would be an advantage.

·        Experience in an agricultural, industrial, manufacturing or energy environment would be a plus.

·        Good knowledge of procurement procedures, supplier follow-up and documentation control.

·        Strong communication, organisational, analytical and follow-up skills.

·        Good command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.

·        Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet operational deadlines.

·        High level of integrity, accuracy, accountability and respect for internal procedures.
