Job Description

Summary

The Farm Officer supports the General Manager in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of farm operations within a deer farming environment, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high standards of animal welfare and service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring feeding schedules, nutritional requirements, and animal health standards are consistently maintained.

Monitor and manage the maintenance of pastures, fencing, and farm equipment.

Implement and maintain systems for tracking deer health, breeding, and population management.

Regularly monitor the herd and ensure all necessary administrative follow-ups are completed.

Assist during hunting seasons, ensuring strict adherence to safety, ethical, and legal protocols.

Coordinate hunting logistics, including scheduling, equipment preparation, and supervision of activities.

Work closely with the General Manager and clients to deliver a safe, professional, and satisfying hunting experience.

Supervise the transformation and processing of deer meat in line with quality and hygiene standards.

Support the development and execution of sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients to promote deer, hunting services, and related farm products.

Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and identify opportunities for business growth and increased productivity.

Lead, supervise, and support farm staff to ensure high performance and adherence to standards.

Plan, schedule, and delegate tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of all farm activities.

Promote a positive work environment through teamwork, clear communication, and accountability.

Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum experience requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar job position.

Minimum education requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Animal Science, Business Management, or related field.

Required skills

Knowledge of animal husbandry, feedlot management, and hunting procedures.

Strong team management abilities, with experience in supervising and training staff.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to perform manual farm work and operate machinery as required.
