Job Description
- Monitoring and analysing production costs, including raw materials, labour, machinery, fuel, electricity, maintenance, transport, and overhead expenses.
- Preparing regular cost reports for management, highlighting cost movements, variances, risks, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Reviewing product costing and ensuring that the cost of manufactured construction materials is accurately calculated and updated.
- Analysing cost variances between actual costs and budgeted or standard costs.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.
- Working closely with the production team to monitor material consumption, wastage, production efficiency, downtime, and yield.
- Supporting inventory control through stock valuation, stock reconciliation, and participation in stock counts.
- Reviewing purchase costs and working with procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitoring margins by product, project, customer, or business unit where applicable.
- Ensuring proper allocation of costs across departments, products, and production activities.
- Identifying inefficiencies and recommending actions to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Supporting month-end closing activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
- Preparing cost analysis for management decision-making, including pricing support and profitability reviews.
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures, controls, and reporting standards.
