OVERVIEW OF THE JOB

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise operation of machinery such as drilling rigs, air compressors, and related equipment. Reporting to the Head of Projects or a designated supervisor, the operator plays a key role in drilling operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining equipment performance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate drilling rig and compressor to drill holes for ramming piles.
• Monitor operational parameters to ensure efficiency and quick response to issues.
• Conduct regular maintenance and equipment inspections and report malfunctions promptly.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and mechanical teams to streamline drilling activities.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of drilling operations.
• Liaise regularly with on-site management and other relevant teams.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Projects.

Profile Requirements

• Higher Diploma in Mechanical or related field from a recognized institution or vocational training center.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating drilling equipment or similar machinery.

Skills & Competences

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, wrenches, screwdrivers).
• Possess good verbal and written communication skill in English or French.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow strict protocols. Any Health and Safety course followed would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic system would be an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Other Requirements

• Valid driving License for Motor Car
• License in forklift, backhoe, excavator or any relevant Machine from a recognized institution
• Medically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
