Job Description
Job Summary
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily rental operations, managing fleet availability, coordinating maintenance, and supervising technician to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused forklift rental services. This role ensures equipment readiness, compliance with safety standards, and smooth coordination between customers, operators, and workshop teams.
Key Responsibilities
Rental Operations
- Supervise day-to-day forklift rental activities, including scheduling, dispatch, and returns
- Ensure rental equipment is available, clean, and in serviceable condition
- Monitor rental contracts, delivery timelines, and equipment utilization
- Resolve customer issues related to rentals, breakdowns, or delays
- Update on ERP systems
Fleet & Maintenance Coordination
- Good communication skill
- Coordinate/ Planning with the workshop/maintenance team for inspections, servicing, and repairs
- Track equipment usage, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance schedules
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate fleet and maintenance records
- Overtime/ Standby team coordination
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Act as the main point of contact for rental customers
- Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Update lifting certificate on ERP Systems
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly rental and fleet reports
- Downtime
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or technical qualification in mechanical, automotive, or industrial field
- Proven experience in forklift rental, heavy equipment rental, or logistics operations
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of forklift types, capacities, and applications
- Good understanding of maintenance and safety standards
- Basic computer skills (rental systems, Excel, reporting tools)
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions
- May involve outdoor work and visits to customer sites
- Requires flexibility to respond to breakdowns or urgent rental needs
- May include weekend or shift work depending on business demands
