Job Description
Job Summary: The People Development & Capability Specialist plays a central role in designing and delivering ABC Academy’s learning and talent programmes across ABC Group. The role extends beyond programme management to encompass talent advisory, people strategy support, internal advisory services, and group-level project leadership. Working closely with and in strong support of the Assistant Manager, the Specialist contributes to the Academy’s positioning as a trusted strategic partner by translating business needs into effective development solutions, maintaining high delivery standards, and leading cross-cluster initiatives that build lasting organisational capability.
- Learning Design & Programme Delivery
Design and deliver impactful learning programmes aligned with capability gaps, manage end-to-end training delivery, conduct training needs analysis and evaluate effectiveness, leverage learning technologies (including AI), and maintain accurate records and reporting in line with required standards.
- Talent Management & People Development
Support talent identification and development initiatives, coordinate psychometric assessments, contribute to succession planning and leadership pipelines, assist in skills mapping and capability gap analysis, and help manage coaching and mentoring programmes.
- People Strategy & Organisational Development Support
Support people strategy and workforce planning, contribute to competency frameworks and capability mapping, analyse organisational challenges to inform interventions, assist in change and culture initiatives, and produce reports that guide decision-making and demonstrate impact.
- Internal Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor on learning and talent matters, support development of proposals and needs assessments, build strong stakeholder relationships, manage vendors and facilitators, and represent the Academy to ensure high-quality, consistent people development services.
- Project Management & Bespoke Interventions
Manage end-to-end people development projects, design and deliver tailored team interventions, identify and develop new Academy initiatives, and oversee project timelines, budgets, and reporting.
Profile & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Organisational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum requirement)
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an advantage
- Professional certifications in L&D, coaching, psychometrics, or project management are advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, HR, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in programme design, delivery, and project coordination, ideally across multiple functions or business units
- Experience working in or with a multi-sector or group company environment is an advantage
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and diagnostic thinking, with the ability to distinguish root causes from symptoms
- Sound understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and talent management methodology
- Ability to engage credibly with stakeholders at multiple levels, from operational staff to senior leadership
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce polished professional documents
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver to deadline
- High degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous professional development.
