Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Merchant Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Identify, approach, and onboard merchants across categories (especially dining, lifestyle, and retail)
  • Own the entire onboarding lifecycle from first meeting to live activation
  • Ensure all merchant listings are complete, accurate, and high quality
  • Capture basic photos/content and enhance listings using internal AI tools
  • Average ticket price to be charged from merchant to get onboarded on the platform and accept reservations and access software tools like table booking system, QR code menus, etc

Merchant Engagement & Revenue Growth

  • Build strong, ongoing relationships with merchants
  • Negotiate and improve offers to drive consumer usage and spend
  • Drive adoption of additional merchant solutions such as:
    • QR-based digital menus
    • Table booking solutions
    • Other SaaS tools for restaurants and merchants
  • Ensure merchants remain active and commercially effective on the platform

Corporate Engagement & Activations

  • Conduct regular presentations to corporates 
  • Drive awareness, employee adoption, and transaction volume
  • Support and execute on-ground activations, pop-ups, and campaigns

Partnerships & Network Building

  • Leverage existing merchant and business networks to accelerate growth
  • Build relationships with local institutions and bodies (e.g., industry associations, tourism, business chambers)
  • Identify and execute strategic partnerships to scale merchant acquisition and usage

Execution & Market Development

  • Work independently in the field with a strong bias for action
  • Build and manage pipeline through personal outreach, referrals, and partnerships
  • Explore use of freelancers or commission-based resources to expand reach
  • Act on inbound leads and convert efficiently

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly driven individual who brings:

  • strong existing network of merchants in Mauritius. Suitable candidates could be from Bank POS merchant teams, or other teams where you have a large network and experience of onboarding these merchants. Please note, we are not looking for someone who will learn on the job – we are looking for someone with existing networks that can get activated from day 1
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or partnerships
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfort with on-ground, field-based execution
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution
  • Ability to engage both merchants and corporate stakeholders confidently
