Hapag-Lloyd QSC Mauritius is growing and to support our growth, we are looking to recruit Data Analyst - Finance and Accounting!
Hapag-Lloyd is a leading global liner shipping company, having its head quarter in Hamburg, Germany, operating 280 modern ships and transports about 12.0 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) per year. This open position shall be on a permanent contract basis.
Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, dynamic dashboards, and complex formulas.
- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau, or internal reporting platforms.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.
- Develop, automate, and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and advanced tracking tools for operational and leadership use.
- Validate and reconcile data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across multiple sources.
- Prepare detailed periodic business performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc) for leadership review.
- Support management with advanced, data-driven analysis to guide critical decision-making.
- Translate complex business problems into structured analyses, leveraging data to perform root cause analysis and scenario modelling.
- Design compelling visualizations, summaries, and presentations that communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, understand business processes, and ensure analytical solutions meet organizational needs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmark performance, and proactively identify trends or gaps.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on insights, supporting continuous process improvement and operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline data processes, driving efficiency across the team.
