Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities to generate Gross Profit (GP) in line with monthly goals.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Generate and follow up on sales leads, maintaining accurate records of interactions and updates in the company’s CRM system.
  • Focus on developing and expanding key inbound and outbound trade lanes, particularly those relevant to Mauritius (e.g., China, India, UAE, and South Africa).
  • Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Documentation teams to ensure smooth shipment execution and seamless client handovers.
  • Gather and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and pricing structures to identify new revenue opportunities and protect market share.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments in coordination with the Finance team and ensure adherence to approved credit limits.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure high-value deals while maintaining profitability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Deep understanding of freight forwarding, including sea/air freight, customs clearance regulations, and international trade lanes.
  • Ability to analyze market data to create actionable sales strategies and solve complex logistics problems.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM software to track performance and manage pipelines.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with shifting priorities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will be a plus.
  • A valid and clean private car driving license is essential for regular client visits across Mauritius.
  • A demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and securing new accounts.
