We Are Hiring – Senior Accounting Associate
Currimjee Real Estate Ltd is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and organised Senior Accounting Associate to join its Finance team.
In this role, you will provide support in the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities of the Real Estate Cluster. You will be responsible for invoicing, debtors and creditors management, reconciliations, preparation of management accounts and financial reports, as well as supporting the Accountant and Finance team in ensuring that all accounting processes, policies, and deadlines are respected.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare rent and utilities invoices for tenants and process the billing of management and syndic fees.
- Process tenant receipts on a daily basis and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Manage debtors, including following up on outstanding amounts, issuing reminder letters, contacting tenants, and maintaining accurate records and logbooks.
- Assist with intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare debtors and creditors reports and support effective debtors and creditors management.
- Process supplier invoices and payments to creditors, including the creation of bank details for new creditors.
- Process bank statement entries and perform relevant reconciliations.
- Follow up and reconcile Purchase Orders (POs).
- Reconcile standing orders and direct debits against invoices on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts and assist with the preparation of yearly Financial Statements.
- Upload budget figures onto the relevant system.
- Update cost plan follow-up reports for projects.
- Assist with bookkeeping and other accounting-related tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidation and yearly inventory activities.
- Respond to queries and provide supporting information to internal and external auditors.
- Ensure that accounting processes and policies are followed and that all deadlines are respected.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum ACCA Level 1 or equivalent qualification in Accounting and Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
- Real estate or property management experience would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of asset and property management software would be an advantage.
- Good planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Self-motivated, willing to learn and develop within the accounting profession.
- A strong team player with a high level of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.
