Job Description

Job Purpose

The Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing activities to promote the company’s range of plastic pipes, septic tanks, water tanks, drainage systems, fittings, and related products.

The role will focus on increasing brand awareness, generating new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, supporting the sales team, and identifying new market opportunities within the construction, plumbing, infrastructure, agricultural, and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing & Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase sales and market share.
  • Promote the company’s plastic pipes, septic tanks, water tanks, fittings, and related products.
  • Plan and execute advertising campaigns across social media, websites, print media, and other appropriate channels.
  • Prepare marketing materials such as brochures, product catalogues, flyers, price lists, presentations, and promotional content.
  • Manage the company’s social media presence and regularly publish engaging product and company content.
  • Organize promotional campaigns, product launches, exhibitions, trade shows, and customer events.

2. Market Development

  • Identify potential customers and new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
  • Identify potential markets within the construction, plumbing, property development, agricultural, industrial, and government sectors.
  • Develop relationships with contractors, builders, plumbers, engineers, architects, developers, retailers, wholesalers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Visit potential and existing customers to promote products and understand their requirements.

3. Sales Support

  • Work closely with the sales team to generate leads and convert marketing opportunities into sales.
  • Follow up on enquiries received through social media, telephone, website, email, and other channels.
  • Maintain an updated database of prospects, customers, contractors, and business contacts.
  • Assist the sales team with quotations, product information, presentations, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve products and services.

4. Digital Marketing

  • Manage and update the company’s social media platforms.
  • Create content including product posts, videos, project photos, customer testimonials, and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor online enquiries and ensure timely responses.
  • Assist with website updates and basic search-engine marketing activities.
  • Monitor digital marketing performance and prepare regular reports.

5. Customer & Relationship Management

  • Maintain professional relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Collect customer feedback and communicate market requirements to management.
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns related to marketing and product information.
  • Develop promotional initiatives to improve customer retention and loyalty.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly marketing activity reports.
  • Track leads generated through different marketing channels.
  • Monitor campaign performance, customer enquiries, and conversion rates.
  • Analyse competitor pricing, products, promotions, and market positioning.
  • Recommend improvements to marketing strategies based on market data and results.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Marketing Officer may be evaluated based on:

  • Number of qualified leads generated.
  • Growth in sales enquiries.
  • Conversion of marketing leads into customers.
  • Growth in customer base and market share.
  • Social media engagement and audience growth.
  • Number of new business accounts developed.
  • Marketing campaign performance and return on investment.
  • Customer visits and business development activities.
  • Effectiveness of promotional campaigns.
  • Quality and timeliness of marketing reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in marketing, sales, business development, or a related position, preferably within construction, plumbing, building materials, manufacturing, or trading.
  • Experience in B2B marketing and customer relationship management will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, or similar marketing/design tools is an advantage.
