Job Description

About the role:

The Financial Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records. The position is responsible for the end-to-end record-to-report process, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes to support effective business decision-making.

The team is globally organised, and the Financial Accountant will be collaborating with accounting colleagues across different countries. Still, local presence and team spirit is key to share best practices and stay close to the business.

These activities result in a very dynamic team, taking up different challenges, close to the heart of the company and with a good balance between routine operations and ad hoc work.

Which tasks can you expect?

  • Maintain and manage the general ledger and ensure accounting transactions are accurately processed within SAP S/4 Hana

  • Prepare and post journal entries related to payroll, revenue, intercompany, capex and necessary accounting adjustments.

  • Review journals entries related to prepayment, accruals, provisioning & others.

  • Ensure month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities are performed according to group deadlines.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all schedules are up to date and agree with Trial Balance.

  • Prepare monthly management reports with variance analysis for presentation in monthly accounting meeting.

  • Quarterly reporting to head office and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure any other statutory reporting is done timely.

  • Review VAT Returns before submission.

  • Interim and Year end audit preparation and closure of financial ledgers.

  • Assist with audit requests and requirements from auditors to help ensure timely audit closure.

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements.

  • Assist in the corporate tax computations and return as per local legislation.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards, and internal policies.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency and other group initiatives.

  • Team up with Accounting team members globally


What do you have to offer?

  • Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 3 with minimum 8 years relevant experience in Accounting

  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Understanding of IFRS and statutory compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good business acumen with good problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent English-written and spoken communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and easy contact to interact with finance colleagues and the wider organization of the company,

  • Proven experience with global ERP systems & Microsoft Office

  • Adapt to changes and learning new things constantly

  • Ability to plan and organise work priorities
