Job Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for protecting company premises, employees, visitors, equipment, and property. The role involves monitoring access, conducting security checks, preventing unauthorized activities, and responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the company premises to ensure the safety and security of people and property.
• Control access to the premises and verify employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of visitors, vehicles, deliveries, and security incidents.
• Conduct regular inspections and security patrols of buildings, parking areas, storage areas, and surrounding premises.
• Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
• Report suspicious activities, security incidents, damage, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor or management.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies and security incidents.
• Assist with emergency procedures, including fire alarms, evacuations, and other safety situations.
• Ensure doors, gates, windows, and restricted areas are properly secured.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing company property and equipment when required.
• Provide assistance and directions to visitors while maintaining security procedures.
• Maintain a professional, alert, and courteous presence at all times.
• Complete daily security logs, incident reports, and handover records accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and security matters.
• Follow all company security policies, health and safety procedures, and instructions from management.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar security role is an advantage.
• Relevant security training or certification is preferred.
• Good observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Physically fit and able to remain alert for extended periods.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or difficult situations.
• Ability to follow security procedures and instructions accurately.
• Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and disciplined.
• Good attention to detail.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for completing security records and reports.
• Basic knowledge of emergency, fire, and safety procedures is an advantage.
