JOB SUMMARY

The Landscape Architect will be responsible for developing creative and functional landscape designs for outdoor spaces, from concept development through to implementation. The role involves preparing landscape plans, selecting plants and materials, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring that projects meet aesthetic, environmental, technical requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES

Develop designs that consider sustainability, biodiversity, water efficiency, climate, and long-term maintenance.

Conduct site assessments to understand the natural and built environment, including topography, soil conditions, and climate factors.

Evaluate project requirements and constraints, including zoning laws, environmental regulations, and client needs.

Review existing drawings, survey plans, GIS information, and other technical documentation.

Prepare site analysis plans, maps, photographs, sketches, and assessment reports.

Use findings from the site assessment to establish design parameters, opportunities, and constraints.

Provide recommendations on plant selection, grading, drainage, irrigation, materials, and landscape treatment.

Work closely with clients, architects, urban planners, and engineers to integrate landscape designs with overall project goals.

Present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine designs.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion of landscape architecture projects.

Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during implementation to ensure adherence to design specifications.

Incorporate elements that enhance biodiversity and minimize environmental impact in landscape designs.

Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals.

Identify statutory approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances required before project implementation.

Review designs for potential environmental, planning, safety, accessibility, and operational risks.

Liaise with relevant authorities, consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate approvals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, Urban Design, or a related discipline.

3–5 years of relevant professional experience in landscape architecture, landscape design, urban design, horticulture, or a related field.
