Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Diagnose, cut out, and repair cracks, bends, and breaks in truck chassis, frames, heavy-duty trailer bodies, hitches, axle mounts, and sub-frames.
Fabricate and install custom brackets, bumpers, toolboxes, side guards, and flatbeds using blueprints or technical drawings.
Set up and operate multi-process welding machines (MIG, TIG, Stick/SMAW, Flux-Core) and thermal cutting tools like plasma cutters and oxy-acetylene torches.
Grind, sand, and smooth welded joints to ensure structural integrity and a clean, professional finish.
Inspect completed welds and vehicle frames for structural defects, alignment issues, or stress points.

 

Qualification & Competencies:


NTC Level 3 or NC Level 3 in Welding and Metal Fabrication from the MITD or an equivalent recognized trade test.
Minimum completion of Form 3 or basic secondary education.
5+ years of demonstrable hands-on experience in heavy metal fabrication, structural repairs.
Should be team player, creative, proactive, resourceful and demonstrate professionalism.
Able to prioritize and work on own initiative.
Detailed oriented.
Ability to meet monthly deadlines.
