Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Use computer diagnostic scanners to find faults in truck and trailer electronic systems.
Test 24V charging and starting systems, alternators, and starter motors.
Check sensors, wiring loops, and CAN bus network communication on heavy vehicles. 
Repair or replace damaged wiring harnesses, connectors, and fuses on trucks and trailers. 
Overhaul heavy-duty starter motors, alternators, and auxiliary electrical equipment. 
Service and repair trailer ABS/EBS modulator valves, air-brake electrical controls, and tail-lift mechanisms. 
Maintain, test, and recharge heavy commercial lead-acid batteries. 
Install auxiliary lights, beacons and power take-off (PTO) electrical controls.


Qualification & Competencies:


NTC Level 3/4 in Automotive Electronics or Automotive Electricity from the MITD or an equivalent qualification like City & Guilds.
Basic secondary education.
Valid private car driving license.
5+ years of proven, hands-on practical workshop experience specifically trucks, and trailer electrical networks.
Should be team player, creative, proactive, resourceful and demonstrate professionalism.
Able to prioritize and work on own initiative.
Detailed oriented.
Ability to meet monthly deadlines
