Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Use equipment and manual testing to identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in trucks and trailers.
Dismantle, repair, or completely overhaul heavy diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, and drive shafts.
Inspect and repair trailer landing gear, kingpins, suspension systems, leaf springs, air lines, and ABS wheel-end components.
Overhaul air-brake chambers, slack adjusters, drums, and steering gearboxes to ensure strict road-safety compliance.
Conduct scheduled safety inspections, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and chassis greasing
Maintain accurate service records, log parts used, and sign off on repair completion reports.

Qualification & Competencies:


NTC Level 3 or 4 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Automotive Mechanics from MITD.
Basic secondary education.
Valid private car driving license.
5+ years of practical workshop experience in a similar position.
Should be team player, creative, proactive, resourceful and demonstrate professionalism.
Able to prioritize and work on own initiative.
Detailed oriented.
Ability to meet monthly deadlines.
