Job Description
The General Construction Co. Ltd (GCC) is looking for a motivated and dedicated Surveyor to join our Site Surveying team.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out surveying and setting-out activities across our building and civil engineering projects in Mauritius. You will work closely with Engineers, Site Teams, and other project stakeholders to ensure accurate survey information and support the successful execution of construction works.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Carry out land and construction surveys on project sites.
- Perform setting-out activities and verify site levels, alignments, and coordinates.
- Operate surveying equipment such as Total Stations, GPS, Auto Levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate survey data and site measurements.
- Prepare and update survey drawings and records using AutoCAD.
- Carry out as-built surveys and maintain accurate survey documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and technical specifications.
- Provide surveying support to Engineers and Site Teams throughout project execution.
- Ensure surveying activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to surveying activities.
- Perform any other surveying-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 -7 years as a Surveyor in the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Sound knowledge of surveying techniques, setting-out procedures, and construction site measurements.
- Proficiency in operating Total Stations, GPS, Auto Levels, and other surveying equipment.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively on project sites.
- Willingness to work on different project sites across Mauritius.
- A valid driving license would be an advantage.
