Job Description

Full Stack Developer (.NET Core, Java & React)

  • Location: Port-Louis (Hybrid — office & work from home)

  • Employment Type: Full-Time

  • Department: Engineering / Technology

About TrovePay

TrovePay is building next-generation financial infrastructure that helps businesses move money and manage transactions with speed, security, and scale. We're a team that thinks big, moves fast, and takes real ownership of the systems we build — because the platforms we ship are ones our customers depend on every single day.

About the Role

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and own critical pieces of our platform end to end. You'll work across the stack — from backend services to a modern web frontend — building systems that are modular, secure, scalable, and maintainable from day one. This is a role for someone who wants more than a ticket queue: you'll help shape architecture, own key technical decisions, and see your work power real transactions at scale.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex architectural problems in a regulated, high-stakes environment and wants to build infrastructure that real businesses rely on every day.

What You'll Do

  • Define and build resilient, scalable microservices using industry best practices

  • Design and guide the architecture of core platform services — modular, secure, scalable, and built to last

  • Build, maintain, and evolve backend services using .NET Core and Java

  • Develop responsive, high-quality user interfaces using React JS

  • Define integration patterns across internal services and third-party providers

  • Design and implement secure APIs that handle sensitive data at scale

  • Implement encryption, tokenization, and other security best practices to protect data in transit and at rest

  • Collaborate with product, security, and compliance teams to ensure our systems meet industry and regulatory standards

  • Work alongside cross-functional, agile teams — including product management and the broader engineering community

  • Own infrastructure choices — messaging, observability, deployment strategy — within your area

  • Write clean, maintainable, extendable, and testable code for highly impactful financial systems, and take an active role in code reviews

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a bias toward simplicity and pragmatism

What We're Looking For

  • Strong professional experience with .NET Core and Java (backend/microservices)

  • Solid experience building frontends with React JS

  • Experience with API-first design, event-driven systems, and clean service contracts

  • Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, and data encryption

  • Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • Experience in a regulated environment is a strong plus — fintech, banking, or other transaction-heavy systems

  • A strategic thinker who thrives on cross-functional collaboration and takes ownership of outcomes

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • Medical Insurance

  • Hybrid working model (office & work from home)

  • Real ownership over the systems you build, from architecture through to production

  • The chance to shape critical infrastructure from the ground up, on a team where every decision matters
