Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain pool water quality by testing and adjusting chemical levels.
  • Clean swimming pools, filters, pumps, and surrounding areas.
  • Check pool lights, timers, valves, and automatic cleaners.
  • Backwash filters and monitor water clarity/turbidity.
  • Inspect and maintain pool equipment, identifying and reporting any faults or required repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of water testing and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain chemical logbooks and safety data sheets.
  • Respond promptly to pool-related maintenance issues.
  • Ensure pool furniture, tools and surrounding areas are clean and presentable.
  • Monitor pool during opening hours if required.
  • Handle chemical storage safely according to MSDS guidelines.
  • Order and manage pool chemicals and spare parts inventory.
  • Check safety equipment: life buoys, first aid kit, signage.
  • Assist with new pool renovations and repairs when required.
  • Assist with other maintenance duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Pool Operator or in a similar maintenance role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pool water chemistry, filtration systems, and pool equipment.
  • Basic plumbing, electrical and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Pool Operator certification or relevant technical qualification is an advantage.
