Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain pool water quality by testing and adjusting chemical levels.
- Clean swimming pools, filters, pumps, and surrounding areas.
- Check pool lights, timers, valves, and automatic cleaners.
- Backwash filters and monitor water clarity/turbidity.
- Inspect and maintain pool equipment, identifying and reporting any faults or required repairs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain accurate records of water testing and maintenance activities.
- Maintain chemical logbooks and safety data sheets.
- Respond promptly to pool-related maintenance issues.
- Ensure pool furniture, tools and surrounding areas are clean and presentable.
- Monitor pool during opening hours if required.
- Handle chemical storage safely according to MSDS guidelines.
- Order and manage pool chemicals and spare parts inventory.
- Check safety equipment: life buoys, first aid kit, signage.
- Assist with new pool renovations and repairs when required.
- Assist with other maintenance duties as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pool Operator or in a similar maintenance role is preferred.
- Knowledge of pool water chemistry, filtration systems, and pool equipment.
- Basic plumbing, electrical and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Pool Operator certification or relevant technical qualification is an advantage.
