Position Overview
The Credit Controller plays a pivotal role in managing the organization's accounts receivable and ensuring timely payment from customers. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, resolving payment discrepancies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cash flow and minimize credit risk. The Credit Controller contributes to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate accounts receivable records and aging reports
- Proactively follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and delinquent accounts
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, billing issues, and customer inquiries
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address credit-related concerns
- Analyze customer credit history and financial data to assess credit risk
- Prepare and distribute periodic reports on accounts receivable status and collections performance
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and industry regulations
- Participate in the development and implementation of credit control strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
