The Interior Designer is required is to plan, design, and furnish interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings through the formulation of design which is practical, aesthetic, and conductive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving life style. The incumbent is also entrusted with the responsibility to assist specific clients by undertaking Interior Designing projects and act as a standpoint for orders of customized products. 

a. Design or revamp new or existing Teak World showrooms for a better customer experience by proposing enhanced spaces, pathways, product displays and pathways. 

b. Design interior spaces, including permanent architectural details and temporary elements.

c. Assess and meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget for the project as well as discuss the scope of work, project goals, and the desired style and aesthetics. 

d. Create mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings to present design concepts to clients. 

e. Select design strategies and colour palettes to create cohesive and aesthetically pleasing environments. 

f. Enhance and improve interior spaces’ functionality by modifying architectural elements and arranging furnishings, artwork and décor. 

g. Delineate project specifications including materials and furnishings to be used, such as flooring, furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures and wall finishes. 

h. Create and manage project budgets, including estimating costs for materials, labour and furnishings. 

i. Establish project timelines and collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project.

j. Oversee the installation and implementation of the design plan. 

k. Negotiate pricing for materials and labour by taking into consideration factors like sustainability, durability, and cost-effectiveness. 

l. Inspect and supervise the work of tradespeople to ensure that quality and safety standards, costs and deadlines are met. 

m. Participate in regular networking opportunities and actively develop a client database. 

n. Perform researches and maintain a working knowledge of Interior Designing trends. 

o. Adhere to national and local building and safety & health regulations with every design element.

p. Evaluate orders and idea proposals to determine feasibility of producing items. 

q. Prepare production requirements to produce items while paying attention to functionality, ergonomics and practicability. 

r. Oversee construction of models or prototype. 

s. Debrief with client after project completion to ensure that goals were met and the project was done to the customer’s satisfaction.

t. Keep track of public and private tenders and follow up on tenders submitted. 

u. Assist specific clients by providing interior design services including site visits and preparing draft design as per client specifications and submit design plan using innovative approach. 

v. Produce meaningful reports periodically to the Broad of Directors with insights for decision making.

w. Perform any other cognate duties within the scope of responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by Management.
