JOB SUMMARY

The Sustainability Project Lead drives execution discipline and supports delivery of sustainability programmes, projects and initiatives across the Group and its Business Units (BUs). Supporting the Sustainability Manager, the role translates approved sustainability priorities into clear project plans, milestones and action trackers, ensuring delivery is structured and outcome focused. The role supports stakeholder alignment, tracks progress across initiatives, and strengthens ESG data systems and reporting, providing clear visibility on progress, delivery risks and escalation points for governance oversight.

 

duties & responsibilities

     1.      Sustainability Programme Monitoring & Reporting

·    Drive disciplined coordination of the delivery of sustainability projects and initiatives across the Group and Business Units (BUs), in line with Sustainability roadmap and approved priorities set by Sustainability Manager.

·        Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones and implementation trackers.

·        Facilitate coordination across multiple workstreams and stakeholders to support the timely delivery of sustainability commitments.

·        Monitor progress against sustainability roadmaps, action plans and targets; identify risks, bottlenecks and resource constraints, and propose corrective actions where required.

·        Consolidate updates from BUs into clear and consistent progress reports, including the dashboards and presentations for management and relevant governance committees.

·        Coordinate external partners, consultants, technical experts and service providers supporting sustainability initiatives.

·        Maintain delivery discipline by following up with BU teams on delays, incomplete actions or unclear ownership, and highlighting material risks for timely resolution and prioritisation.


2.     ESG Data Systems & Reporting Readiness

·        Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of ESG data systems, reporting tools and dashboards.

·        Work closely with the ESG Analyst to ensure sustainability data is complete, accurate and up to date.

·        Support process improvements, automation opportunities and data quality controls that strengthen reporting efficiency and reliability.

·        Act as a key point of contact for BUs regarding ESG reporting systems and processes.

·        Support the Group's readiness for evolving sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements.

·        Coordinate the ESG reporting calendar, including data collection, dashboard updates and reporting inputs, and support contributions to the integrated annual report and sustainability report.

 

3.     Stakeholder Coordination & Governance Support

·        Act as a key coordination point between the Group Sustainability team and Business Unit teams.

·        Facilitate cross-functional working groups, project teams and sustainability taskforces.

·        Support the effective functioning of sustainability governance structures, working groups and forums.

·        Promote collaboration, accountability and ownership across sustainability workstreams.

·         Coordinate with auditors, certifying bodies and assurance providers where and when relevant.

 

 

4.     Sustainability Function Development

·        Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of sustainability project management, reporting and governance processes.

·        Identify opportunities to strengthen implementation support, monitoring and reporting practices across the Group.

·        Support the Sustainability Manager in sustainability planning, prioritisation and portfolio management.

·        Support the identification and coordination of external funding opportunities, partnerships and technical assistance programmes that can strengthen and accelerate sustainability initiatives across the Group.

·        Contribute to the continued development of the Group's sustainability programme, reporting readiness and governance framework.

·       Support sustainability-related communication planning by coordinating inputs, evidence, progress updates and content requirements

CANDIDATE’S PROFILE

 

Qualifications Required:

·        3–5 years of experience in project management, programme coordination, sustainability, ESG, transformation, consulting or a related field, including experience coordinating multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

·        Bachelor or Master’s degree in Project Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline.

·        A project management certification (e.g. PMP, Agile or equivalent) would be an advantage.

 

Key competences (Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, Behaviours):

·        Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate and track multiple initiatives in parallel.

·        Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to maintain momentum and alignment across diverse teams and workstreams.

·        Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, tracking tools, dashboards and reporting systems.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management and reporting tools.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to non-specialist audiences.

·        Strong facilitation, relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.

·        Good understanding of sustainability and ESG topics, including climate, energy, natural capital, biodiversity, reporting frameworks and responsible business practices.

·        Ability to work independently in a fast-evolving environment and translate strategic priorities into practical action plans and monitoring frameworks.

·        Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively across teams.

·        Experience supporting sustainability reporting, assurance processes, certification frameworks or management systems would be an advantage.
