Job Description

Our client in the financial industry is recruiting a Product Specialist

 

Duties will include

  • Act as the key liaison between the Investment Team and the Business Development Team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of company’s investment strategies, funds, and products.
  • Articulate investment views, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex investment concepts into clear, client-friendly communication. 
  • Contribute to the development and structuring of new investment products and solutions. 
  • Prepare regular product updates, market commentaries, and performance reports. 
  • Support business development initiatives through preparation of pitchbooks, product notes, and presentations.
  • Participate in client meetings and product due diligence sessions alongside Investment Team. 
  • Monitor and analyse competitor products and market positioning to enhance company’s product offering. 
  • Provide technical support and training to the client servicing teams. 
  • Maintain an awareness of financial markets, economic trends, and industry developments. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Investment, Operations, Compliance, Business Development) to ensure consistency in product messaging and delivery. 

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Economics / Investments or a related field from a recognized university. 
  • Holder of a CFA designation (or progress toward CFA), or another professional qualification (e.g., CAIA, FRM) will be a strong advantage. 
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in asset management, investment advisory, product specialist, or investment research roles, preferably within a regulated financial services environment. 
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of multi-asset investment strategies, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments, as well as portfolio construction principles. 
  • Proven ability to articulate investment strategies, performance drivers, and market views to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience in product structuring. 
  • Experience in preparing high-quality investment materials, including pitchbooks, fund presentations, market commentaries, and due diligence responses. 
  • Good understanding of performance attribution, risk metrics, and benchmark analysis. 
  • Familiarity with CIS, fund structures, and regulatory frameworks (preferably within the Mauritian or similar jurisdictions) will be an advantage. 
  • Strong awareness of global financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and competitor landscape. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with institutional and high-net-worth clients. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with experience in investment systems (e.g. Bloomberg) will be an advantage.
