Job Description

The Category Specialist is responsible for implementing strategies for RPSS approved categories via strategic sourcing initiatives and optimization projects,

as well as tracking and giving guidelines to Spot Buyers for purchases within his/her related categories. The role negotiates and implements contracts for

specific categories ensuring benefits in price, conditions, service level and quality.

The role owns the promise to customers by making sure that the underlying price and conditions are constantly available, accurate and up-to-date in the system for smooth execution of order.

Key roles and responsibilities

Strategic Category Sourcing

Definition & execution of category strategies

Define category risk assessment

Manage supplier relationship and develop collaborative initiatives

Validate and approve analysis of categories and market analysis

Develop and Maintain its related Category Card

Execute strategic sourcing initiatives with multifunctional teams (Global and Regional Procurement, PSS and procurement capabilities group)

Manage Contracts

Ensure contract compliance

Negotiate with suppliers and select the best option

Review, sign and ensure implementation of negotiated contracts/PO’s

Resolve outstanding contract/PO issues and claims

Qualifications and Behavioral Competencies

Complete contract termination requests & submit for approval

Continuous Improvement

Execute Regional Value Engineering Project

Define & execute innovation strategy

Qualifications and Behavioral Competencies

• Undergraduate degree in procurement, supply chain, commercial or equivalent.

• Five years’ general business experience; Procurement experience preferable.

• Proficiency in Excel (advanced), Word, other Microsoft packages

• Knowledge of SAP/ Syspro advantageous

• Basic knowledge of finance and accounting allowing the ability to run/read analysis of a

supplier’s P&L and balance sheet

• Good performance track record

• Strong leadership skills
