JOB PURPOSE

To design, secure, and operate resilient network and cloud environments by implementing robust security controls, protecting identities and data, and proactively mitigating cyber risks across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES    

1. Monitor, maintain, and support secure network infrastructures for multiple clients and business units.
2. Design, implement, update, and optimize enterprise firewalls and security gateways.
3. Perform switching and routing operations, including:
1. VLAN design and segmentation
2. Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
3. High availability, redundancy, and failover
4. Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic prioritization
4. Implement and enforce network security policies, segmentation strategies, and security best practices across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
5. Conduct regular network health checks, security audits, and performance reviews to ensure stability, scalability, and compliance.
6. Proactively monitor network and cloud environments to identify security risks, performance bottlenecks, misconfigurations, or vulnerabilities.
7. Handle security incidents, service requests, and infrastructure changes related to network and security platforms.
8. Participate in and contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives, including modernization, cloud adoption, and security enhancements.
9. Secure cloud and identity platforms, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune, ensuring strong access control and endpoint security.
10. Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support secure CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
11. Document network and security configurations, procedures, standards, and topology diagrams in accordance with operational and compliance requirements.

 

12. Carry out such acts as shall be required for the proper fulfilling of duties listed under items (i) to (xi) above.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT or equivalent/master’s degree will be an advantage
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in network and security
• At least 4 years in network security engineering roles within medium to large-scale enterprises
• Minimum 3 years supporting firewalls and VPNs in production environments
• At least 12 months of hands-on experience in routing, switching, and firewall technologies
• Certifications: CEH, CCNA/CCNP Security or equivalent certifications
• Configuring and Installing Network Devices and services such as routers, Access Points, switches, load balancers, VPN and QoS

 

COMPETENCIES

Technical Skills

 

1.      Network Security & Infrastructure

• Hands-on expertise in enterprise firewall platforms/ vendor technologies
• Strong understanding of network security architecture, perimeter defense, segmentation, and zero-trust principles
• Experience with VPN technologies (site-to-site, remote access, IPsec, SSL VPN)
• Proficient in configuring and maintaining:
• Firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers
• Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
• Network Access Control (NAC)

2.      Routing, Switching & Network Operations

• Solid experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, including:
• VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP
• Inter-VLAN routing
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
• Experience implementing high availability, redundancy, and failover architectures
• Understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization and performance optimization
• Ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues

3.      Cloud & Microsoft Security

• Practical experience securing hybrid and cloud environments
• Expertise in Microsoft 365 security
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Experience with Microsoft Intune

4.      DevSecOps & CI/CD Security

• Understanding of security integration within CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, automation, and security-as-code concepts
