Job Description

Our client is seeking to recruit an Accounts Officer who will report to the Finance Manager and Head of Finance. The Accounts Officer will ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintenance of accounting records, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Accounts Officer supports the financial health and operational efficiency of the company by assisting in day-to-day accounting tasks, reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in accordance with company policies.
  • Reconcile daily sales reports, bank statements, and cash balances from multiple restaurants.
  • Assist in monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor and report on variances between budget and actuals.
  • Prepare tax returns, VAT declarations, and ensure statutory compliance.
  • Handle petty cash records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Provide financial data and support to restaurant managers when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Profile:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field / or at least and ACCA level 1 completed .
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting role; experience in retail or food service is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and accounting standards.
