Job Description
The Manager Credit Risk is responsible to assist the Senior Manager & Head of Credit Risk & supervise the Credit Underwriting Team for the evaluation of credit application processing and approval and make changes to ensure the financial stability of the organisation while ensuring timely submission of regulatory and other reporting's. The Manager shall also be responsible for carrying analysis of credit proposals and make appropriate recommendations to the various Credit Sanctioning Committees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review analysis
of loan/credit applications or renewals and recommend for decision to the
relevant credit sanctioning committee within the defined timeframes.
·
Ensure credit
evaluations are complete and of the highest standard.
·
Ensure that the
bank complies with all relevant regulations and internal policies and report
any deviation as appropriate.
·
Assist in
developing and executing analytical initiatives across the credit business and
produce sound recommendations to increase profitability.
·
Submit and debate
on credit files at the relevant credit sanctioning committees.
·
Disseminating the
corporate culture by promoting the values of the organization.
·
Undertake
training of staffs in credit related matters.
·
Organize the
sharing and dissemination of experiences and lessons learnt among team members
·
Promote
self-development and continuing personal developments.
·
Coach/mentor and
motivate team members to ensure Employee Engagement Level.
·
Be responsible
for the health and safety of all staffs in the department, promoting safe
working practices and taking action where necessary.
·
Cultivating
awareness and keeping updated on credit risk related matters on both the local
and international scenes.
·
Approving,
reviewing and maintaining up to date credit scoring systems.
·
Keep informed of
all changes in relation to Risk related procedures.
·
Contribute to
reviewing and keeping the Credit Risk Policy (CRP) and other credit related
policies updated.
·
Monitor and
report on a monthly basis on service level turnaround time against agreed
targets as per SLA.
·
Efficiently
manage office data, files and records.
·
Prepare reports
for management in relation to all credit related matters.
·
Submission of
regulatory reports in a timely manner as per set deadline by regulators.
·
Appraising
requests by order of priority taking into account set KPI.
PREREQUISITES:
·
Degree or Post
Graduate Qualification in Banking or any field accepted by the bank
·
Over 5- 7 years
of work experience in Banking or Finance industry inclusive of 3-5 years of experience
in credit underwriting as credit underwriter
·
A detailed
knowledge of the requirements of the more sophisticated customers
·
A broad
understanding of policies and strategies within the country as they relate to
the demands of the customer base
·
A detailed
understanding of regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
·
Excellent oral
and written communication skills, ability to convey information effectively and
convincingly to all levels.
·
Excellent
planning, time management, organizing and problem-solving skills
·
Good working
knowledge of regulations within the financial sector
· Excellent working knowledge of MS Word & Excel tools
