Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Officer is
responsible for managing the company's receivables portfolio, ensuring timely
collection of outstanding invoices, maintaining accurate customer account
records, and supporting healthy cash flow management. The role requires strong
attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build
positive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
The successful candidate will contribute to
the Finance team's objectives by ensuring efficient invoicing, payment
tracking, reconciliation, and debt collection processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and within
agreed timelines.
- Monitor customer accounts and ensure payments are received
according to agreed credit terms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer
transactions.
- Allocate customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable
balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment queries,
and account issues.
Collections & Credit Control
- Follow up on overdue accounts through emails, telephone calls,
and other communication channels.
- Support credit assessments and customer onboarding from a
receivable’s perspective.
- Enforce credit policies and payment terms in line with company
guidelines.
- Contribute to cash flow forecasting and reporting.
- Escalate high-risk or long-outstanding accounts where necessary
Support the implementation of collection strategies to reduce aged debt.
- Monitor customer credit limits and report potential credit
risks.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform regular customer account reconciliations.
- Prepare Accounts Receivable-related reports for management,
including debtor days, performance collections, and bad debt provisions.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support cash flow forecasting through accurate reporting of
expected collections.
- Support the month-end and year-end close reporting requirements
related to the revenue cycle, including revenue, accounts receivable,
deferred revenue, and bad debt.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial
procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and financial information.

Maintain complete and accurate
supporting documentation for customer onboarding, credit approvals, credit
limit changes, and collection activities.
· Support compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your
Customer (KYC) requirements by maintaining appropriate customer due diligence
documentation and records.

Monitor adherence to approved
credit terms and identify exceptions for management review and approval.
- Identify opportunities to improve receivable processes and
collection efficiency.
- Support audits by providing required documentation and account
information.
Qualifications & Experience
·
Diploma or Degree in
Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
·
Minimum 3 years of experience
in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Collections, or Finance.
·
Good understanding of
accounting principles, revenue cycles, and Accounts Receivable processes.
·
Experience working with
multiple currencies and international customers.
·
Experience using ERP or
accounting systems.
·
Strong proficiency in Microsoft
Excel.
·
Sound understanding of credit
management principles, customer credit assessments, and credit limit
monitoring.
· Knowledge of collections best practices and debt recovery procedures.
