Job Description

Primary Purpose

Execution of Veterinary Nursing, biotechnology services within the organization. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, client satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across all functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Contribute the work necessary for maintaining our accreditation in line with latest certification requirements and guidelines and in collaboration with management, veterinarians and supervisors
The veterinary nursing care of the animals on the different sites and the strict maintenance of the sanitary status, as described in the company’s quality manual and SOP’s, in all animal housing zones.
Monitor, record and control the use of drugs and veterinary consumables in line with standard operating procedures.
Working in close cooperation with Veterinarians and management teams.
The supervision of all staff has been appointed to you.
Ensuring that all the company veterinary and animal welfare procedures are complied with and that these high-quality standards are always maintained while processing works. 
Participate in the development of training programs and the training of all employees involved in sample collection, veterinary and husbandry work.
Require familiarity with current scientific literature together with the capability to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions within generally defined practices and policies.
Always observe the workplace rules and report non-conformance to the relevant person as to ensure that all activities in the workplace are compliant with company rules, policies and procedures 
Ensure proper labelling and handling of blood samples.
Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Preparing animals: Implement welfare compliance procedures to ensure animals wellbeing.
Drawing blood: Use needles and other equipment to collect blood samples from various animal species.
Assisting with treatments: Direct other treatments, when necessary, in collaboration with veterinarians. 
Monitoring patients: Keep track of animals' vital signs and recovery post-surgery and needed.
Maintaining records: Ensure accurate and detailed medical records of all procedures and samples.
Following safety protocols: Adhere to strict health and safety standards to maintain a sterile environment. 
Performing any other tasks that usually devolve on a Veterinary Nurse.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum a Diploma in Nursing or related studies.
At least 5 years of experience as a Human Nurse.
Valid registration with the relevant Nursing Council / regulatory body and a current practicing licence.
Holder of a valid driving license or has an own means of transport.
Demonstrated experience in: 
o Patient care and monitoring
o Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
o Maintaining accurate medical records and reports
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide patient care.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks efficiently.
