We are looking for a Workshop / Production Manager for one of our clients.
We are looking for a Workshop / Production Manager for one of our clients who will be:
Responsible for controlling the day to day operational workshop activities through maximum utilization of manpower and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Liaise closely with the Planning Coordinator and ensure the workshop loading is done effectively.
- Ensure optimum level of productivity from the teams.
- Ensure the delivery times are met.
- Ensure that expected quality of products meets requirements.
- Ensure that non-used raw materials are returned to main store (in connection with Storekeeper).
- Establish and maintain high degree of discipline among the workforce.
- Make sure all equipment is kept in a safe working order.
- Ensure that all fire and safety measure are adhered to in connection with the Maintenance Officer.
- Ensure that workshop objectives and targets are achieved through monitoring of Key Performance Indicators [KPI’s] where and when applicable.
- Make sure there is a proper vehicle flow through the workshop.
- Ensure that the workshop and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Carrying out other occasional duties related to the scope of the job as requested.
Person Specification / Essential Desirable
Qualifications and experience
- Practical qualification and experience as Workshop Manager or similar functions (5 years minimum).
Communication
- Listens, questions and clarifies information and instructions with Planning Coordinator.
- Keeps the Supervisors informed of work progress and any potential problems.
Organization
- Is aware of the program timescales and ensures deadlines are met.
- Works in a tidy manner, ensuring it is clear which jobs are being done at any time.
Intellect and initiative
- Knows when to ask for support and advice from colleagues.
- Checks the job sheets against other instructions provided to ensure the correct process is being followed.
Specific skills
- Good special awareness and the ability to spot potential problems prior to production.
Teamwork and staff relationships
- Is a positive influence over team/workshop morale.
- Remains in control under pressure.
