Our client, in the production and distribution sector, is looking for a WWTP Process Superintendent (Seychelles).

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain the stability of the standard basis of the process of the treatment of waste waters of the plant.
  • Track the source of pollution coming from the factory premises based on analysis and appropriate quantification.
  • Alert the factory teams regarding impacts on the good operation of the WWTP.
  • Able to challenge the teams on technical solutions to reduce load of pollution going to the WWTP.
  • Able to challenge the WWTP team to maximize efficiency of the treatment.
  • Undertake any other duty as per line management request and operational need.
  • Work in a responsible and safe way.
  • Organize monitoring of waste water at inlet of the treatment plant to identify origin of the load of pollution.
  • Make sure data on waste water loads per area are available from the factory.
  • Help the lab team to analyze waters and to react in case of Out of Specification results.
  • Be critical about the impacts of factory operations on the WWTP.
  • Understand perfectly the different steps of the WWTP and helps the WWTP team to troubleshoot the process and get the treatment working appropriately.
  • Work closely with the WWTP supervisor to monitor the system and modify parameters of treatment if necessary.
  • Analyze data from inlet/outlet for being able to propose adjustments of the WWTP operations to reach the outlets requirements at any time.
  • Able to take important decision in emergency for ensuring the system stays under control.
  • Organize work for subordinates.
  • Strictly abide to procedures and policies in place.
  • Contribute to ensure that the working area is maintained in a clean, hygienic and safe condition.

Qualification:

  • Master degree (Engineer or equivalent) in Water engineering or environmental technology with 1-3years of experience in similar position.
  • Degree in Water engineering or environmental technology with 3-5 years of experience in similar position
  • 3-5 years in industrial environment at a similar position.

Candidate profile:

  • Strong knowledge in waste water treatment, water analysis and technical solutions to catch pollution.
  • Good skills in physico-chemical and biological processes of industrial wastewater treatment.
  • Basic electro-mechanical and/or programming skills would be a plus.
