Technical Manager - Plastic Injection/Extrusion - Mauritius

Job Summary

NATEC Medical is a well-established company, specialising in the manufacturing of state-of-the-art Percutaneous Interventional Devices and Light Medical Engineering based in Mauritius. Vertically integrated, we design and manufacture angioplasty balloon catheters for interventional cardiology, radiology, gastroenterology and urology. For our extrusion business line, we are looking for an international technical manager, with at least 10 years of experience in related field, who wants to relocate to Mauritius, to manage the operating team in accordance with policies and procedures.

• Previous experience in extrusion of HDPE, PP, PEBAX and medical grade materials.
• Previous experience setting up and producing single, dual and multi lumen tubing up to 6Fr.
• Previous experience running extrusion line with gear pump and single screw.
• Must have experience trouble shooting various component of a semi-automated extrusion line.
• Must have experience developing medical grade tubing for catheter.
• Previous injection moulding and over moulding experience with medical grade materials.
• Previous experience performing IQ/OQ/PQ in a regulated environment.
• Previous experience setting up, troubleshooting and running both single and multi-cavities Injection Moulding machines is essential.
• Must have the ability to do injection and extrusion blow moulding mould changes and set ups
• Must have good trouble shooting skills in both injection and extrusion.
• Previous management experience is essential. 
• Understanding of GMP, ISO 13485 and 21CFR820.

• Overseeing production runs of injection moulded parts and extruded parts.
• Overseeing maintenance and participating in upgrading process of equipment.  
• Developing the extrusion and injection activities.
• Bringing in-house capability for moulding and over moulding of medical grade polymers.
• Overseeing and running trials to develop new products to customer specifications.
• Overseeing and setting up machines for Extrusion and moulding processes.
• Managing production line operation in accordance with policies and procedures of a medical device environment.
• Ensuring compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR820 regulations.
• Overseeing the correct start-up of machinery, setting production recipes and specific regulation parameters.
• Managing the extrusion and moulding operation team to ensure high quality performance at all times.
• Regulating production processes and controlling production variables (quality and waste).
• Managing production line-ends, machine shut-downs, and all related maintenance activities.
