The Mauritius Cargo Community Services Limited (MACCS) is the company that operates the Cargo Community System (CCS) to secure and facilitate trade operations in Mauritius. The nature of its operation relies on a highly competent technical team made up of talented and experienced engineers.

 

Applications from competent and motivated Systems Engineers are invited to join our team.  

 The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any equivalent qualifications which may be acceptable to the management
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers
  • Be experienced in physical and virtual environments including infrastructure and datacentre components
  • Have a solid knowledge in setting up and administering web and mobile application servers
  • Be proficient with scripting languages and tools such as Linux Shell and Microsoft Windows PowerShell
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Be disciplined, self-motivated, proactive and team player
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and French
  • Should be able to work at odd hours
  • Be agile and eager to learn

Experience and certifications the following technologies would be a definite advantage: Citrix XEN Server, Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux, Microsoft SharePoint, RDMS, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Weblogic, Caching, Web browsers 

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer shall report to the head of IT operations.  The day-to-day role and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the proper operation of the company’s IT infrastructure and web applications
  • Administer and maintain the components of all services offered by the Company
  • Perform application deployment and release management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues with partners and suppliers
  • Work in collaboration with other technical and non-technical staffs
  • Perform tests and research on new technologies
  • Document operation procedures and problem resolutions for future references
