This role is the primary liaison between the designers and vendors to bring the creative designs of our R&D team and customer requests to life. The role requires individuals who are well versed in men’s apparel, fabrics, design principles, and the direct sourcing and design process.

 

Will be in charge of a portfolio of customers as per assigned by the design director

• Interpret the creative vision and design of the customer /R&D team into a technical specification that the vendor can manufacture to
meet our in house team and customer specifications
• Assist with the product development life cycle: from design inception, sketches, fabric and trim development, and through final PPS
approval and production
• Manage each product development to the time and action calendar for the customer
• Work closely with Research & Development team /customer to fully understand the product vision and make it a reality
• Prepare documentation sheets for products being considered for the initial line
• Is knowlegeable on product development
• Create tech packs for each product in collaboration with the customer & Research & Development team and vendors; provide factories with
tech pack and instructions to proceed with proto sample
• Demonstrate initiative and take ownership of the product development process – being assertive to gather all relevant information
from design and sourcing teams
• Communicate with sales team for all product developped
• Review initial garments for appearance and aesthetics, ensuring they meet design specifications
• Work closely with and QC manager to review proto samples and provide feedback to the factories based on QC manager feedback
to correct Proto samples before review with the buyers
• Follow-up on Product through PPS stages together with vendors to ensure the garments meet both visual and technical specification requirements
• Analyze progress reports, cost analysis and margin analysis
• Cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships with all levels of the Direct Sourcing and Merchandise teams and within
the organization
 
Degree in fashion design or merchandising or related field strongly preferred

• Demonstrated knowledge of textile and apparel design principles

• Ability to work well in a collaborative and creative environment with little supervision
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment
• Highly dependable with a strong work ethic
• Strong analytical abilities, focused on research, compilation, and interpretation of data

• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management and coworkers
• Ability to maintain a sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time and operate computer equipment
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the Head office with flexibility based on project needs
• Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount frequently to move objects
• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis.
• Able to litf and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer
and office equipment.
• Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.
• Extensive travelling to foreign countries will be required
