Our Client is seeking to recruit a Senior Superintendent for its operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

. Responsible for safety & discipline in the work area

. Manage (plan, lead, organize, control) all general Cargo operations, planning and personnel

. Motivate personnel to achieve the set targets and ensure effective utilization of allocated resources in each shift

. Control the shift roster  prepared by the superintendent in coordination with Staff & Equipment Control

. Prepare operation work plan and brief staff about operational work plan before start of shift

. Consolidate the report for loading & discharging operations carried out for all vessels to Operations Manager at the end of every shift

. Liaise with Marine operations for receiving information on vessel arrival time.

. Ensure berthing window agreement with the shipping lines are executed

. Ensure the liner agent & Marine operations are timely informed about sailing time

. Ensure that information w.r.t. vessel operations is shared and communicated with the Planning and Support personnel for preparation of Vessel Closing/ Terminal Sailing and terminal statistics

. Control the report for damaged cargos prepared by Vessel Supervisor & inform the same to site Operations Manager & Planning

. Strictly follow storm procedures

. Ensure adherence of quality and safety standards inside the DMP Terminal

. Administrate & report incidents to Operations Manager and translate into procedures for future prevention

. Ensure that information is provided to Marine Operations about expected time of vessel completion

. Establish and implement Performance Testing Standards and Best Practices

. Assist site Operations Manager in developing, implementing and enforcing Multipurpose terminal operational policies, procedures, and guidelines in coordination with the general management organization

. Identify and develop the department's technology and training requirements

. Assist site Operations Manager in planning and monitoring training programs for department personnel

. Assist Operations Manager in maintaining performance criteria (KPIs)

. Perform periodical scheduled performance review with reporting personnel

. Provide regular process control checks and initiate and support performance improvement activities and coordinate with Support team to update SOPs

. Any other work deemed fit for structuring of tasks and goals, to achieve high productivity with efficient utilization of equipment and labour.

 

PROFILE

. Experience in container General Cargo operations, Preferable: 6 to 8 years

. Experience in supervisory role in Multipurpose Terminal operations is Mandatory:  3  to 5 years

. Graduate/ Bachelors degree

. Merchant marine background is preferable.
